Why Summit for Survivors

This isn't a race, and you don't need hiking experience to take part. Summit for Survivors is a peer-to-peer friendraiser, that just means each person or team who registers sets up their own simple fundraising page, then asks friends and family to support them in honor of the hike they're about to do. The hike itself is the reason people give; the climb is what makes the ask meaningful.

Every dollar raised goes toward one specific, tangible outcome: covering the cost of education for girls who are graduating from a Reintegra safe home next year. These are young women rebuilding their lives after surviving exploitation, and continued education is one of the most important tools they have to build an independent, secure future.

You don't have to be an experienced climber, a fundraising expert, or even able to attend in person to be part of this. There's a role for almost everyone — climbing, fundraising from home, or simply spreading the word.

We also invite those joining us to share with friends and family why they are participating in this event and to ask them sponsor you on this hike. Together we will share a fundraising page. And everything we raise will go toward:

  • The care of survivors.

  • Their education in the pursuit of their specific dreams.

  • The work of advocacy to help rescue more women and children.
