Ana is under the care of Rahab Foundation. Rahab cares for vulnerable populations susceptible to human trafficking and victims of human trafficking in Costa Rica. Reintegra started supporting Ana as a grant recipient in January of 2022.

This is a bit of my story, I came to this country from Nicaragua, 12 years ago with my family, to have a better future, when I was 13 years old my stepfather died, he was like a father to me. He died in 2013; this was very hard for my family and for me. From that day, the problems began; we no longer had money, not even to pay the rent for the house. Sometimes we did not have anything to eat. We had very difficult times; we owed months of rent; and we were evicted from our family home. Throughout our struggles, my mother was a warrior. She gave us what she could through the ups and downs, stress, and fatigue.

We never gave up! Despite so many things that have happened to me, I have never stopped going to church. At church, they told me about Rahab Foundation, so I started going. From the first day I felt very good there. For me, the foundation was a great help! In my most difficult moments, they supported me with everything - therapy, life-skills classes, educational classes, and food.

Through the Rahab Foundation, I was able to get ahead in life and it has been a wonderful experience so far. I will always be grateful to everyone at the foundation for the support they have given me for 5 years, and for this great educational opportunity to study at university has been the greatest blessing of my life.

When Rahab Foundation tole me that I had obtained a university scholarship and a grant from the Reintegra program to cover all of my university expenses, it was the best news of my entire life! I promise never to give up, and I will always be grateful to you for giving me this opportunity! Thank you very much.
